Mikasa
Ackermann

Traffickers murdered Mikasa's parents in front of her and were arguing over her price when a boy her own age walked in and killed two of them, then told her to fight. Driving the knife into the third man woke something in her blood, a strength that never left, and that night Eren wrapped his scarf around her and his family took her in. The scarf became the center of her life. So did he.

She graduated first in the 104th and made the top of the class look like a formality. In Trost, told that Eren was dead, she cut through Titans until her gas ran low and, for one moment on a market street, let herself stop fighting, then remembered his order from childhood and stood back up. That pattern repeated for years. Whenever Eren was taken, by the Female Titan, by Reiner and Bertholdt, by the Interior Police, Mikasa went through whatever was in between. Levi once had to physically pull her off a fight because she put reaching Eren above her own orders.

Eren turned that devotion into a weapon against her. In a restaurant on Paradis he told her the Ackermann blood had simply imprinted on him as its host, that her love was instinct rather than will, and that he had hated her since they were children. It was a story built to push her away, and both Zeke and Armin doubted every word of it, but she carried it into the final battle anyway, along with the scarf he told her to throw away.

She was the one Ymir Fritz had been watching for two thousand years. Ymir stayed bound to the royal line by a love she could not put down, and it took Mikasa, choosing to kill the person she loved most, to show her that letting go was possible. Mikasa entered the Founding Titan's mouth, cut Eren's head free, and kissed him goodbye. His death ended the power of the Titans. She buried him under the tree on the hill in Shiganshina, and she kept the scarf.
