Ymir

Ymir's first life was built on a lie she did not choose. A nameless beggar child, she was picked up by a cult leader who named her Ymir, called her royal blood, and let his followers worship her. When the authorities came, she accepted the role of deceiver to the end and was turned into a Pure Titan on the wall of Paradis for it. She wandered mindless for about sixty years, until the night she stumbled into four Warrior children crossing the island and ate one of them, Marcel, waking up human with the Jaw Titan in her spine.

Her second life had one rule, live for herself, and one exception she could not help. She heard the Wall cult whisper about a discarded Reiss daughter renamed Christa Lenz, recognized her own story in it, and followed the girl into the Cadet Corps. She spent years dismantling Christa's martyr act, and at Utgard Castle she burned the secret she had killed to keep, transforming in front of everyone to hold off a Titan horde with a collapsing tower. Half-eaten and dying, she got what she wanted: Historia said her real name.

Then she gave the second life back. She sided with Reiner and Bertholdt during the retreat from the Walls, and when the pair were about to be overrun she went back for them, telling them she owed the Warriors for the chance her stolen power had given her. Marley fed her to Porco Galliard, and her Jaw Titan passed on. What survived was a letter Reiner carried to Historia through a war: an apology, and one regret, that she never got to marry her. Her Titan stood up one last time among the resurrected Nine at the final battle, on the side that stopped the Rumbling.
